The Sea-Bird SBE 18 pH sensor is a modular, self-contained and user-friendly instrument built for use as an auxiliary sensor for CTD (including the Sea-Bird SBE 19plus V2 SeaCAT) profiling applications. The sensor uses a pressure-balanced glass electrode, Ag/AgCl-reference pH probe to provide in-situ water pH measurements at up to 1200 m depths. The pH probe is replaceable, and is securely sealed and supplied with a soaker bottle attachment to prevent the electrode from drying out while in storage

The sensor uses a pressure-balanced glass electrode, Ag/AgCl-reference pH probe to provide in-situ water pH measurements at up to 1200 m depths. The pH probe is replaceable, and is securely sealed and supplied with a soaker bottle attachment with KCL soaker solution to prevent the electrode from drying out while in storage.
The SBE 18 is easy to install, service and calibrate, and is calibrated against precision buffer solutions (4, 7, and 10 pH ± 0.02 pH), with results tabulated on a certificate that is included with each sensor. The anodized aluminum and stainless steel housing is rated to depths of 1200 m.
